- Exfoliate your skin. This treatment or solution can either take the form of just using regular soap and an exfoliating sponge or cloth, or using chemicals, like salicylic acid and glycolic acid. These acids are meant to destroy the top layer of skin, which will help to unclog clogged pores. Many of these treatment products are available over the counter at your neighborhood drugstore.
